The introduction of certified Hanwoo strengthens bilateral trade beyond the traditional energy and infrastructure sectors
South Korea has expanded its commercial presence in Qatar with the launch of premium Halal-certified Hanwoo beef.
The product was presented at The Meat Market in Doha, marking a new stage in trade relations between the two countries, which have traditionally focused on energy, construction and shipbuilding.
According to representatives involved in the initiative, the product's entry into Qatar combines the international recognition of Korean culture with new opportunities for premium food products aimed at Muslim consumers.
Qatar now joins Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates among the Halal markets receiving Hanwoo beef. The initiative also highlights the importance of Halal certification in providing access to markets with specific compliance requirements.
The movement reinforces the potential for higher-value agri-food products within the Halal market and expands opportunities for international cooperation between businesses, governments and commercial partners.
