Arab Health may generate USD 12.3 million for Brazilians

Value is the business expectation for the next 12 months. The health fair occurred in Dubai from January 28 to 31 and featured 30 exhibitors from Brazil.

The healthcare fair Arab Health may generate up to 12.3 million for Brazilian industry in the next 12 months, as divulged by Brazilian Medical Devices Manufacturers Association (ABIMO) on this Monday (4). The show occurred from January 28 to 31 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and featured 30 exhibitors from Brazil.

According to a press release by ABIMO, the Brazilian participation was one of the most positive for the Brazilian Health Devices, an initiative by the association and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil). The four-day event resulted in approximately USD 3 million in new deals made by the Brazilian companies, in addition to the expectation for deal-making of USD 12.3 million in the next 12 months.

“Very dynamic from the very first day, the 2019 edition of the Arab Health was one of the most fruitful in the last 17 years. All our associates were very satisfied, specially by the quality of the public present,” said Larissa Gomes, ABIMO coordinator of trade promotion and one of the responsibles for the organization of the Brazilian pavilion, according to the release.

The report also informs that Brazilian brands made 2,155 commercial contacts during the event, 74% of which with new distributors and partners. “We’ve encountered a very diversified fair and found interesting opportunities not only in the Middle East but in many other countries,” said Marília Braga, foreign sales manager in Truckvan, which works with mobile units for the healthcare sector.

The Arab countries most interested in Brazilian healthcare products were Saudi Arabia, Algeria, UAE, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria and Sudan; other countries interested included Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, Russia and Turkey. “Each year we notice the Brazil brand is growing strong and winning the confidence of local buyers,” added Larissa Gomes.

Brazilian ambassador in the UAE Fernando Igreja visited the Arab Health and the Brazilian companies present. In the release, he stated “the consolidation of the Brazilian pavilion in this most important event of the healthcare calendar is critical to foster the internationalization of the national industry.”

Rosana Bervint de Oliarte, trade director of Russer Brasil, company that sells healthcare devices, said in the release that “Arab Health sounds like the best business option, but we still have great challenges ahead.” She took the opportunity to launch a new product of their portfolio, the Digital Flexible Endoscope Scorpion R1. “With the highest performance, our products quest for competitivity with technologies from other continents.”

The company Casex participates in Arab Health since the first time the Brazilian pavilion was mounted 17 years ago. “This year exceeded our expectations because of the high interest from the public in our products,” commented the brand representative Herman Casella in the release.

The 2020 edition of Arab Health is already schedule, from January 27 to 30. Each year, the event gathers approximately 4,150 exhibitors and 84,500 participants from por more than 160 countries.
