Russia is rapidly emerging as a key player in the global Halal food trade. In 2024 alone, the country saw an 80% surge in Halal food exports, reaching $382 million. Halal chicken dominated, accounting for over half of that amount at $211 million, while certified beef, lamb, and ready-to-eat products also saw sharp increases.
Top export destinations include Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iran, Algeria, Kuwait, Jordan, and Egypt. However, navigating Halal certification standards remains a challenge. With six certification centers currently operating in Russia, the regulatory landscape is still developing.
The long-term potential is substantial — Russia’s Halal export market is projected to reach $26 billion annually by 2030. The government is investing in strategic efforts to tap into new markets, including Malaysia, a global Halal hub.
